Poverty line

" People leave in poverty situations if their income and their recourses (material, cultural and social) are so low that they unable them to live in conditions considered as accessible in the country where they live. "

In France, we consider the poverty line at 50% of the median income
(the European definition is at 60%!)

Definition of the median income: in a same country, there are as much households that have an income which is lower than the median income as households that have an income which is higher than the median income.
